Bring your family for an opportunity to explore the Commons ahead of its public debut. This preview is exclusive to our members and donors as a thank you for your loyal support of the Conservancy. We hope you can join us to celebrate!

Event Details

We recommend you come dressed to play so that you can take full advantage of all the attractions the Commons has to offer. Additionally, please keep in mind that there are water play features in this area, so you may want to bring a change of clothes for your children.

This event is by invitation only, non-transferable, and your RSVP is required by Friday, April 5, at noon. RSVP through the form above.

For questions, please contact cdelclos@hermannpark.org.

Parking

The event will take place inside the Commons construction fence. Guests must enter the site at the corner of Fannin and Cambridge Streets.

Parking for this event will be located at Hermann Park's Lot S, located right next to Palmer Church (6221 Main Street) and the Rice University campus in Entrance 3 garage.

If parking at Lot S, make sure to use the entrance on Main Street and tell the parking attendants you are here for the Commons Sneak Peek. Once parked, you can walk along the Main Street sidewalk toward Cambridge Street, turn left at the corner and continue down Cambridge across Fannin to enter the Commons site.

If parking in the Rice University garage, guests should enter Rice at Gate 3, which is at Main and Cambridge Streets. The best address to use for the parking garage is 6200 Main Street. Click HERE for more information about the location of the parking garage.

You must show the parking attendant a parking pass for free entrance into the garage. The parking pass will be emailed to everyone who has sent in their RSVP for the event, so please make sure to RSVP. You can present a printed copy or a digital version on your phone. We strongly encourage one car per family for this event, as parking is very limited.

Once parked, guests will need to exit the garage and take the sidewalk towards Main Street. The Commons is located just across Main and Fannin Streets, and direction signs, along with HPD and Metro officers, will be helping with street crossing. Entrance for the event is at the corner of Fannin and Cambridge.
