Keith Wade was a lifelong resident of Houston, an advisor to several Houston mayors, and a member of the Hermann Park Conservancy family.

He served as one of the earliest board members, as well as a board chair and a longstanding advocate for the Park.

Keith grew up in neighboring Third Ward. He grew up in a time when segregation was still prevalent, and Hermann Park gave him a chance to play with other kids from all over Houston. This idea—that Hermann Park is for every Houstonian—was a guiding vision for the founding of the Conservancy, with Keith as one of its most vocal advocates.

We think this video, where Keith talks about the importance of Hermann Park not only in his life but for everyone who visits here, captures that wit and one-of-a-kind laugh, as well as demonstrates his passion for Hermann Park, Houston, and all of its citizens.
