GARDEN & NATURE SERIES: Tree Planting for Earth Day

Wednesday, April 22, 2020
6 pm - 7:30 pm
Family Garden in McGovern Centennial Gardens

The Garden & Nature Series is back! Join the Harris County Master Gardeners as we celebrate Earth Day with a discussion on planting trees.

Trees are critical to our world’s environmental well-being. They provide wildlife habitats and act as filters trapping pollutants while releasing oxygen. Planting trees in the urban landscape is of great benefit reducing cooling costs and storm runoff while adding to your property values. We will plant a tree in the Family Garden and demonstrate proper techniques for planting a tree: selection, plant preparation, hole size, and maintenance.
