Hermann Park Conservancy Overview Founded in 1992 as Friends of Hermann Park, Hermann Park Conservancy is a nonprofit citizens’ organization dedicated to the stewardship and improvement of Hermann Park – today and for generations to come. Through a public-private partnership with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, the Conservancy has raised over $40 million for improvement projects in Hermann Park, one of Houston’s most historic and popular green spaces.
Hermann Park Overview Hermann Park, donated by George Hermann to the City of Houston in 1914, consists of 445 acres in the heart of Houston. The Park serves over six million annual visitors, most of whom come from the Park's surrounding neighborhoods, which represent a diverse cross-section of the City's population. Beyond that majority, visitors come from across Houston as well as from outside the city limits.
