If so, then you've noticed some of the changes we have made to improve your park experience.
Over the past year, those changes have included finding a new home for the steam locomotive SP 982 and making that area safe for park users. Recently we added chairs with shade umbrellas in that space for you and your family and friends toi relax in and enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake, wildflowers, and wildlife habitats.
One of our most exciting new projects for Hermann Park is the upcoming Lake Plaza construction. This new pedestrian space will include a cafe, new miniature train station, public art to celebrate Houston's diversity, and an outdoor space for park visitors to relax with family and friends. Fundraising for the $8 million project has already begun, and the Conservancy hopes to begin construction in the Summer of 2007. What else can we do to make that space your first choice for a place to take your family and friends? What features would make your experience in Hermann Park even better?
