Fishing and Pedal Boats
Please be advised of the following temporary rules and regulations:
- Fishing is restricted to those 12 and under and 65 and over
- Texas Fishing License required for those aged 65-70 (Call 1-800-792-1112 for more information)
- “Catch and Release” is recommended. This is to allow our young fish population to mature.
- Do not litter. Help keep McGovern Lake clean by picking up and properly disposing of all fishing line, bait containers, fish and other trash

Pedal Boats
Pedal boat rental available at the Hermann Park boathouse located near the Miniature Train Station and across from the main entrance of the Houston Zoo.
Pedal Boat hours:
Weekdays: 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (last boat goes out at 6:30 p.m.)
Weekends: 11:00a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (last boat goes out at 6:30 p.m.)
Four person boats rent for $8/half hour.
