Can I have my wedding photos taken in Hermann Park?
Any commercial use of any city property requires a permit. A professional photographer must obtain a permit for a photography session in Hermann Park by calling the Garden Center at 713-284-1989. Professional photography is not permitted in the Japanese Garden.

Can I have a special event in the Park?
Certain venues (and the Hermann Park Train!) are available for private rental. Please visit the Facility Rentals section to learn more.

Can I reserve a covered picnic pavilion?
Yes. The covered pavilions in Hermann Park are available to rent. For information please call 832-395-7012 or 832-395-7013.

Where are the pavilions?
There is one large and two small pavilions near Fannin, and one at Bayou Parkland. The large Fannin pavilion is marked on the Hermann Park map (click here to download). The two smaller pavilions are close by.

Do I need to reserve a picnic table?
No, all individual picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis to Park users. Click here to download the Hermann Park map, which indicates areas that have picnic tables (marked with a picnic table icon).

Are dogs allowed in Hermann Park?
Dogs are allowed on a leash only. There are no off-leash areas. All city municipal codes pertaining to dogs must be followed, including cleaning up after them. No pets are allowed on the Hermann Park Train, pedal boats, in the Zoo or any buildings (except for seeing-eye dogs).

Are grills allowed in Hermann Park?
Yes.

Are there any grills available?
Yes, there are 17 grills scattered throughout the
Park. They are available on a first come, first served basis.

Are glass containers allowed?
No.

Is alcohol allowed in the Park?
Yes, but not in glass containers.
