Getting to the Park

We expect several thousand kite fliers and spectators out to enjoy a gorgeous day in the Park, so plan your trip accordingly. We strongly recommend using alternative transportation. Here is a short list of ways to get to Hermann Park on March 26th that totally avoid seeking a parking spot:

  • Complimentary BikeHouston bike valet: If you ride your bike to the Park, BikeHouston is offering a FREE valet service. Simply ride up to the valet station on the south end of the Japanese Gardens and they will check your bike in a secure area for you; just like a car valet!
  • METRORail: The METRORail stop at Fannin and Sunset will drop you right in the heart of the Park only a short walk from Kite Festival. Park your car off-site and enjoy a stress free ride right into the middle of all the fun!
  • Ride share: Cabs have always been a great option to get where you need to go without the need of parking your own car. You can also take advantage of ride shares like Uber or Lyft to be dropped off and get home from Kite Festival.

Other options include renting a B-Cycle, or paying to park off-site and walking over. If you must drive, please carpool!
